Rules
1. Deadline for entries is November 1, 2021. Any photo entered must have been taken in Florida during the twelve months prior to the contest entry deadline. Enter JPGs and JPEGs only.
2. Photographers may enter one photo in each contest category. Judges may, at their sole discretion, reassign an entered photograph to a more appropriate category.
3. Categories for entries:
4. Submitted entries must include the date and location the photo was taken, the make and model of the camera and lens used to take the photo, and basic exposure information (shutter speed, aperture, ISO).
5. Entries should also be accompanied by a brief (2-3 sentences) synopsis of how the photograph was obtained and identification of bird and animal species displayed in the image.
6. Photos must have been taken in accordance with Ethical Nature Photography Standards promoted by Tampa Audubon Society (TAS) and the TAS Photo Club. Read the standards here.
7. A Photograph that appears to the Organizers or Judges of the contest to have been taken in violation of the Ethical Nature Photography Standards or to reflect one of the following situations is not eligible for Submission and, if submitted, will be disqualified at Tampa Audubon’s sole discretion. That includes:
● birds (including chicks) that appear to be stressed or harassed by the photographer
● birds at nests taken with wide-angle or macro lens
● nesting birds, including but not limited to solitary flightless chicks and adults brooding, feeding, or incubating chicks, where the photographer’s distance appears to be closer than approximately 25 yards

9. Removal, addition, or alteration (painting over, cloning, or blurring) of anything in the original subject/scene that was photographed is not allowed. Photographs that have been digitally or otherwise altered beyond standard optimization will be disqualified.
10. Photo entries should not have any superimposed text, watermarks, or other features that identify the photographer. Judging will be done anonymously.
11. A single winner for each category will be chosen by a panel of experts selected by TAS Photo Club.
By entering the contest, you represent and warrant that you are the sole and exclusive author and owner of the photograph and all rights therein.
By entering, you agree that any photos you submit can be used by Tampa Audubon Society (TAS) for marketing and educational purposes.
By submitting your photos to TAS, you are granting TAS a royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and publicly perform the photographs you submitted and the right to use your name, city & state & camera settings for photos submitted in promotion and other publicity.
